Emergency Alert Notifications

Latah County uses Genasys Alert to send emergency notifications to subscribed residents and businesses. Registration is required — only those who sign up will receive these alerts.

For emergencies that meet federal IPAWS standards, alerts will also be broadcast through the federal IPAWS system — including WEA cell broadcasts, EAS radio and TV interruptions, and NWMS — which are opt-out and reach the public automatically. Alerts that do not meet those thresholds are sent through Genasys only, making registration essential to stay informed.
